This very successful FMCG business is currently seeking to appoint a proactive Logistics Coordinator with strong knowledge of UK & EU logistics processes to join the team at its UK Head Office in Essex. In this role, you will work closely with the Logistics Manager and the Logistics team to plan and schedule transport and deliveries for customer orders across the UK and Europe, and to further develop the logistics operation.

This role is key to maintaining smooth operations, optimising transport costs, and ensuring compliance with logistics regulations.

What you’ll do:

  • Work in partnership with the sales and finance teams to ensure agreed customer delivery dates are met
  • Plan and manage vehicle routes, ensuring full truck utilisation and cost efficiency
  • Build and maintain relationships with hauliers in the UK and Europe to support business growth.
  • Oversee the coordination of inbound and outbound deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with import/export and customs regulations.
  • Continually improve and develop business performance within legislative constraints, fuel costs and environmental pressures

Qualifications, Experience & Skills - you will need the following:

  • A proven track record of working in fast-paced logistics/transport operation within an international distribution environment
  • Good knowledge of logistics processes and procedures - both UK and European to include knowledge of customs procedures and associated documentation requirements
  • Strong IT skills and experience - competent with learning new systems
  • Excellent communication skills, able to interact effectively at all levels within a business
  • Team player - able to work effectively within a small team environment
  • Able to be self-motivated and to work under pressure to achieve results
  • Commercially focused and able to spot and react to opportunities
