A well-established company based in Laindon, Essex is seeking a Test Technician to join its Documentation Department. The company operates from a purpose-built design, engineering, and headquarters facility, employing approximately 80 staff at this site.
Specializing in the design and assembly of filling and packaging lines for aerosols, the company primarily serves the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. Core equipment is sourced from leading manufacturers in Switzerland and integrated with custom-designed conveyors, enclosures, air handling systems, electrical control systems, and ancillary equipment.
All panel building, wiring, and PLC programming are carried out on-site, with dedicated departments focusing on pneumatics, can handling, guard building, machining, machine assembly, commissioning, and documentation.
About the Role
We are looking to appoint a Test Technician to execute comprehensive test protocols as part of the commissioning of aerosol production lines prior to formal customer acceptance testing. The role involves ensuring that equipment functions as designed by following a detailed set of mandated tests and reporting results for project review and necessary actions. This position provides critical support to Project Managers and Engineering Technicians.
Initially, the role will focus on testing machines within the factory environment using pre-prepared test protocols to verify their operation. This approach ensures consistency in testing procedures while allowing the technician to gain a deep understanding of machine functionality.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute predefined test protocols
- Complete all relevant test documentation
- Identify and report incidents, deviations, or failures observed during test execution
- Provide detailed reports on executed tests and outcomes
- Offer feedback and suggest improvements to enhance testing efficiency
- Collaborate with customer validation teams during Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and on-site testing
- Maintain and calibrate test equipment
Critical Requirements
- Formal engineering qualification
- Proficiency in MS Office, including MS Word and Excel
- Strong understanding of automated equipment and machinery
- Experience with formal testing procedures
