Our client has a fantastic opportunity for a Logistics/Production based Operations Material Controller. The client is a global high-tech company and one of the key players in Aerospace, Defence and Security. Headquartered in Italy, our client has over 45,000 employees, of which 7,000 are based in the UK. The Integrated Sensing and Protection business in Basildon is uniquely positioned as one of the world's top manufacturers of Infra-Red cameras and communication systems

As an Operations Material Controller, you will control the flow of material within the Production environment in a timeframe that supports the Master Production Schedule (MPS).

Responsibilities include:

  • Organising and issuing materials to the manufacturing area.
  • Maintaining traceability of all materials and finished goods produced.
  • Contributing to the creation and update of the Master production Schedule
  • Organising the return to vendor of faulty or incorrect materials
  • Working with engineers to ensure build standard integrity is maintained.
  • Generating and managing works orders for new build and repair activities.
  • Ensuring material is available in line with the master production schedule.
  • Generation of shipping documentation
  • Booking of UK and export shipments via freight forwarders/couriers
  • Organising the processing of customer repairs
  • Monitoring of shelf-life product
  • Control and reporting of Government furnished assets
  • Liaising with external suppliers and customers
  • Management inventory
  • SAP system issue resolution

No Experience is required as the client have a robust training and development package which will take you through all aspects of the Material Management process and delivers what is expected from you at each stage. We require someone who is an organised logical thinker, numerate, willing to learn and a proactive self-starter.
