Sales Ledger Assistant

??Laindon, Essex | ?? Up to £28k | ? Full-Time, Office-Based | ?? Monday to Friday, 9:00 - 17:30

Join a leading transport company as a Sales Ledger Assistant within their Finance Team. They are looking for a detail-oriented individual to help manage the sales ledger.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce sales invoices and credit notes via internal software
  • Build knowledge of customer invoicing requirements
  • Liaise with Transport Managers and Supervisors for accurate data entry
  • Meet weekly/monthly invoicing deadlines and maintain real-time invoicing tracker
  • Handle customer queries and ensure timely resolution
  • Reconcile month-end sales ledger and produce customer statements
  • Support with financial reporting and month-end tasks
  • Process cashbook transactions and assist in internal audits

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience in an accounts office or sales ledger role
  • Strong MS Excel and IT skills; experience with bespoke systems a plus
  • Proactive with excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Good communication skills and knowledge of accounting principles
