Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and high-quality English lessons, in line with the curriculum (KS3, KS4, and potentially KS5).
- Foster a passion for literature, reading, and language in students, ensuring they enjoy and value the subject.
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all students, including those with special educational needs and those working at different levels.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and support to help students achieve their potential.
- Promote a positive learning environment with high standards of behaviour and respect.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of the English curriculum.
- Actively participate in departmental meetings, CPD (Continuous Professional Development), and school events.
- Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure student welfare and academic success.
About You:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (Essential).
- A degree in English, English Literature, or a related subject (Essential).
- Experience teaching English at secondary level (Desirable but not essential for NQTs).
- Strong subject knowledge and passion for English and the humanities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage and inspire students, promoting a love for literature and writing.
- Strong organisational and classroom management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and self-improvement.
