Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons in Maths to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially Key Stage 5.
  • Develop students' understanding of mathematical concepts, fostering a passion for the subject and ensuring they see its real-world applications.
  • Use a range of teaching strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of all students, including those with special educational needs.
  • Monitor, assess, and track student progress, providing regular feedback to ensure all students are on track to achieve their full potential.
  • Create a positive and stimulating learning environment that promotes high standards of behaviour and engagement.
  • Actively contribute to the development of the Maths curriculum and ensure its alignment with school goals.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support student progress and well-being.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and school-wide events to contribute to the wider school community.

About You:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (Essential).
  • A degree in Mathematics or a related subject (Essential).
  • Previous experience teaching Maths at secondary level (Desirable, but NQTs are welcome to apply).
  • A deep understanding of the Maths curriculum and a passion for the subject.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students of all abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A proactive, positive attitude with a commitment to making learning enjoyable and accessible for all students.
  • A willingness to engage in continuous professional development to further your teaching skills.
