Teacher of Humanities

We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Teacher of Humanities to join our dynamic faculty and inspire students in their exploration of the humanities, this role will be based in the Basildon area.
Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver engaging and comprehensive humanities lessons to secondary school students.
Teach a range of humanities subjects, such as history, geography, social studies, anthropology, or cultural studies.
Introduce students to diverse perspectives, cultures, and historical events to promote global awareness and empathy.
Encourage critical thinking, analysis, and interpretation of primary and secondary sources.
Foster a classroom environment that values open dialogue, respect, and inclusivity.
Incorporate technology, multimedia, and experiential learning opportunities to enhance students' understanding and engagement.
Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and initiatives that integrate humanities with other subjects.
Organize and facilitate field trips, guest speakers, or other experiential learning activities to enrich students' understanding of the humanities.
Stay informed about current events, trends, and advancements in the humanities field and integrate relevant topics into the curriculum.
Support students in participating in humanities-related competitions, conferences, or extracurricular activities.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Humanities, History, Geography or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Teaching certification or license in Humanities, History, or a relevant subject area.
Proven experience in teaching humanities subjects at the secondary level.
Strong knowledge of various humanities disciplines, including history, geography, anthropology, and cultural studies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and motivate students.
Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Demonstrated commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Strong organisational and time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities.
Passion for ongoing professional development and willingness to attend relevant workshops or conferences.
