SER are currently working alongside a Mental Health Service based in the Basildon, South Essex area who are currently seeking to appoint a Service Manager to join their team on a permanent contract. Therapeutic optimism is at the heart of all the work carried out by this Mental Health Service, believing all clients with mental health needs can achieve and make positive changes to their lives as they move along their pathway of recovery.

Position: South Essex Service Manager

Location: Basildon, South Essex

Contract: Permanent - 37.5hrs per week (Mon – Fri 09:00 – 17:00)

Salary: £38,934 pa

About this role:

The Essex Services Manager will be responsible for running the High, Medium and Low Services and delivery of a first-class service in line with the support services offered. The post holder will work as a member of the Senior Management Team working closely with other Operational Managers, the Executive Team, Commissioners and External Strategic and Clinical Partners.

Main Duties:

  • Work with the CEO, Head of Operations and Regional Manager in maintaining the high standards connected with strategic planning and development, supervision, delivery and administration of the service;
  • Lead on assessment and support plan delivery in line with the Care Programme Approach;
  • Promote and develop good practice and best value for the service through leadership and act as a positive role model in relation to personal and professional conduct.
  • Develop and maintain links with external agencies in order to ensure effective service for all.
  • Develop and manage all aspects of these services within the services good practice policies and guidelines.
  • Manage data collection by staff re. Outcomes and Recovery STAR, report writing, policies, planning, budget management as part of the Senior Management Team;
  • Flexibility in working hours required in a High, Medium and Low, 7 days a week service. 

Essential Requirements:

  • Good level of maths and written English
  • Experience in supervising/line managing staff with an awareness of good practice in staff supervision or recent completion of an appropriate training programme.
  • Good standard of office administrative practices and procedures
  • Ability to work with the Multi-Disciplinary Team to identify support needs of service users and ensure that these are communicated to the wider staff team
  • Ability to plan, manage and prioritise a high workload to meet deadliness
  • Excellent communication skills – written and oral and negotiation skills
  • Experience within healthcare/mental health (desirable)
