SENDirect is looking for a motivated and compassionate Learning Support (Development) Assistant to join our dynamic team. As a Learning Support (Development) Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals with disabilities and special educational needs (SEN) to reach their full potential. You will work closely with our Learning Support (Development) Team and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for our clients. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about helping others, have a strong understanding of SEN, and have a desire to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Learning Support (Development) Team to develop and implement individualized learning plans for each client.

Provide one-on-one support to clients with disabilities and SEN, both in-person and virtually.

Assist in creating and adapting learning materials and resources to meet the specific needs of each client.

Work with clients to develop their skills in various areas, including but not limited to communication, social skills, and independent living.

Monitor and assess client progress, and provide feedback and reports to the Learning Support (Development) Team.

Collaborate with other professionals, such as teachers, therapists, and parents, to ensure effective support for each client.

Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment through effective communication and positive behavior management techniques.

Attend training and development sessions to continually improve your knowledge and skills.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in education, psychology, social work, or a related field

Experience working with individuals with disabilities and SEN

Knowledge of different learning styles and SEN strategies

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude

Familiarity with assistive technology and communication aids is a plus
