Role Overview:
As a SEMH Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with SEMH needs. You will work closely with teachers and other staff to create a positive and engaging learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs
  • Assisting with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
  • Encouraging positive social interactions and emotional regulation
  • Supporting students in their academic work and promoting independence
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students
  • Creating a safe and nurturing environment conducive to learning

What We Are Looking For:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs (in a school or related setting is preferred)
  • A strong understanding of child development and SEMH challenges
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or related fields are advantageous
