- Locate and inspect emergency accommodations, such as bed and breakfasts, ensuring compliance with safety standards and insurance requirements.
- Negotiate cost-effective rates for temporary accommodations and secure properties at best value.
- Manage the placement of homeless clients into interim accommodations and handle nominations for stage 2 temporary housing.
- Conduct risk assessments for housing placements and ensure optimal use of available accommodation stock.
- Oversee the closure of temporary accommodations, including serving Notice to Quits and minimizing financial exposure for the Council.
- Prepare reports and investigate urgent management move requests, including those based on medical needs.
- Proven experience in public sector housing or a similar environment.
- Familiarity with CIVICA and JIGSAW systems.
- Experience in managing rent accounts and enforcement actions.
- In-depth knowledge of homeless legislation, the Housing Act 1996, Landlord and Tenant Law, and Benefit regulations.
- Strong understanding of available housing options and support services.
