About Us:

We are a compassionate and forward-thinking school based in Basildon, dedicated to providing outstanding education and support to children with special educational needs (SEN). We are currently seeking a dedicated and empathetic 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and work closely with a child who has specific learning needs. Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored 1:1 support to a child with SEN, assisting them with their learning and development.
Adapt and modify classroom activities to suit the child's individual needs and abilities.
Help the child engage with the curriculum and ensure they are fully included in class activities.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to implement effective support strategies.
Assist with personal care and/or mobility needs if required.
Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents where appropriate.
Foster a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment for the child.
Support the child in building social and emotional skills, promoting confidence and independence.

About You:

Previous experience working with children, preferably with SEN (Essential).
A patient, caring, and compassionate approach to working with children.
A good understanding of a range of SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, learning disabilities, or other related needs (Desirable).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Ability to build strong relationships with children, helping them to feel confident and supported.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt to changing needs.
A positive and proactive attitude, with a focus on achieving the best outcomes for the child.
