Academics is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN LSA to join our inclusive and supportive 2-form entry school community in Basildon, Essex. The school has a strong community that supports the growth of all students, ensuring that those with SEN receive the help and resources they need to excel. To be successful in this role you must:

  • Have relevant experience supporting children with SEN, preferably within a school setting.
  • Be passionate about helping students with diverse learning needs and be able to adapt your approach to meet individual requirements.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both with students and staff, and be able to build strong relationships with children, particularly those with additional learning needs.
  • Have a strong understanding of strategies to support students with a variety of SEN, such as autism, ADHD, and dyslexia.
  • Be patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting the emotional and social development of children.
  • Be willing to engage in professional development and work closely with the teaching team to implement tailored learning programs.

As an Experienced SEN LSA, you will play a key role in supporting students with a range of special educational needs, ensuring they are able to engage with the mainstream curriculum. You will work closely with the class teacher and staff to implement tailored learning strategies (EHCPs), assist with individual and small group interventions, and create a nurturing environment for students to succeed academically and socially.
