The successful candidates will play a key role in supporting the emotional and physical well-being of our pupils, helping them access and engage in their learning. This is an exciting opportunity to integrate therapy and education, working within a supportive, multidisciplinary team in a specialist therapeutic school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual occupational therapy sessions, tailored to meet the needs of pupils with complex social, emotional, and learning needs.
  • Lead whole-staff training on occupational therapy strategies, interventions, and key theories (such as Zones of Regulation and Sensory Integration).
  • Establish a therapeutic presence across the schools, ensuring therapy is integrated into the school environment and learning.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support staff, and therapists to maximize progress for pupils.
  • Be a role model for best practices in occupational therapy and pupil support, demonstrating the highest levels of care.
  • Support both individual pupils and small groups or whole classes, depending on their needs.
  • Serve as an ambassador for Octavia House, promoting our brand and vision across the schools.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of a long-term occupational therapy practice within the schools.

What We're Looking For:

  • Qualified Occupational Therapists with experience in working with children and young people, particularly those with complex needs.
  • Knowledge and application of key therapeutic theories such as Zones of Regulation and Sensory Integration.
  • The ability to deliver both one-on-one interventions and group-based support.
  • A flexible team player with strong communication skills, who is confident in leading training and presenting to staff.
  • A passion for making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle challenging behaviours with empathy and professionalism.
  • A commitment to creating a therapeutic environment that supports pupils' emotional and physical well-being.

Why Join Us:

  • Be part of an innovative and supportive team within specialist independent therapeutic schools.
  • Work in a role that offers variety, with the opportunity to influence practice and help shape the therapeutic approach across the schools.
  • Develop professionally while making a real difference in the lives of children and young people.

If you are ready to take on this rewarding challenge and are passionate about occupational therapy and supporting young people, we would love to hear from you. Please apply as soon as possible.
