Accounts Semi-Senior – Top 50 Accountancy Firm – Basingstoke

The Role

As an Accounts Semi-Senior, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional accounting services to a diverse portfolio of clients. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Accounts Preparation: Preparing statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
  • VAT Returns & Bookkeeping: Managing VAT returns and maintaining accurate client records using cloud-based accounting software.
  • Client Support: Acting as a point of contact for client queries, building strong relationships, and offering practical solutions.
  • Compliance: Ensuring compliance with all relevant standards, including UK GAAP and applicable regulations.
  • Team Collaboration: Supporting junior team members and collaborating with senior staff to ensure high-quality service delivery.
About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • ACCA / ACA part-qualified.
  • At least 2 years UK practice accounts experience.
  • SRA experience would be an advantage.
  • University degree with 2.1 or higher or 3 good A-Level results (or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and client management skills.
  • Able to produce high quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player.
  • Confident, positive, professional and can-do attitude.
  • Strong IT skills, specifically Excel and able to pick up new IT packages very quickly.
  • Create a positive impression with clients and staff.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach, prepared to go the extra mile.
  • Enjoy developing junior staff.
