Corporate Tax Trainee – Top 50 Accountancy Firm – Basingstoke

We are delighted to be recruiting for an ambitious Corporate Tax Trainee to join a highly regarded accountancy practice in Basingstoke. This role offers a unique opportunity to kickstart your career in tax, gain hands-on experience, and work towards professional qualifications with full support from the firm.

The Role

As a Corporate Tax Trainee, you will be an integral part of the tax team, working with experienced professionals to provide outstanding tax services to clients. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Tax Compliance: Assisting with the preparation and submission of corporate tax returns.
  • Client Support: Collaborating with the team to answer client queries and provide practical advice.
  • Research & Analysis: Supporting the team with research into tax legislation and identifying opportunities for tax planning.
  • Document Preparation: Preparing and reviewing documentation for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Learning & Development: Actively participating in training sessions and applying your knowledge to real-world scenarios.
About You

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • A-Levels (A,B,B) or equivalent qualifications. Alternatively we welcome applications from university students who have achieved or are predicted a 2:1 or above
  • You must have GCSEs in Maths and English at grade 5 or above
  • Proven communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong IT skills, specifically Excel and able to pick up new IT packages very quickly
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • A positive, confident and proactive attitude 
  • Enjoy working as part of a team and self-motivated
  • Willingness to undertake and succeed in a range of professional studies
  • Relevant work experience and/or experience would be great but not essential
