Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a Hampshire based client that operates in an interesting and niche sector. They are currently recruiting for a technically strong qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) Accountant to join their team as Finance Controller.  The successful candidate will have previously led and developed a finance team within a larger organisation with experience and knowledge of process improvement and leading change.Your responsibilities will include providing leadership and guidance to a reporting team undertaking the following tasks:
  • Take responsibility for financial control, accounting and reporting
  • Preparation of financial and management reports
  • Managing preparation of all statutory compliance documentation and VAT returns
  • Creation of daily, weekly and monthly reports
  • Ensure all deadlines are met and completed
  • Understanding business needs and ensuring that processes are aligned and compliant
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements
  • Coordination of financial statements
  • Project related activities around process enhancement and change
  • Build and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders
What you will need to be considered for this role:
  • Qualified accountant ACA /  ACCA / CIMA
  • Strong technical accounting expertise   
  • Experience of leading and developing teams within a larger organisation
  • Proven background working on process improvement projects coupled with implementing change
  • Experience of working with a range of stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills
