Are you an experienced finance professional with a keen eye for detail, seeking a dynamic and impactful role? Our client, a well-established SME in Basingstoke, Hampshire, offers a unique product and is searching for a Financial Controller to lead and manage their financial operations with accuracy and efficiency. This position provides the chance to collaborate closely with leadership and play a vital role in driving the organisation's success.What will the Financial Controller role involve?

  • Produce monthly and year-end management accounts using Sage 200, report variances, and liaise with the MD and German accountant.
  • Coordinate audits, verify financial statements, manage year-end journals, oversee corporation tax filings, VAT returns, and Companies House submissions.
  • Administer payroll with Sage 50, process employee changes, update tax codes, and ensure pension contributions comply with regulations.
  • Approve expense claims, reconcile financial statements, manage currency purchases, and oversee credit control for select clients.
  • Assist with budgeting, monitor stock valuations, manage sustainability reports, and ensure compliance with legislation, including insurance renewals.

Suitable Candidate for the Financial Controller vacancy:

  • Experience with payroll, VAT, corporation tax, and financial audits.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with HMRC Government Gateway and bank systems.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A solid understanding of current financial legislation and reporting requirements.
  • Ideally knowledge of Sage 200.
