CMA is working with an ambitious, dynamic company.  Due to a number of their existing clients requiring a UK presence they have set up a UK Head Office in Basingstoke, Hampshire. Reporting to the UK Director, this is a fantastic opportunity to join the business at an exciting time.  Due to a particularly busy period this role is initially offered on a temporary to permanent basis.  What will the Assistant Accountant role involve?

  • Processing a range of financial transactions into accounting system.
  • Processing a number of small payrolls.
  • Setting up payments on the banking platforms.
  • Bank reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Assisting with the preparation of quarterly VAT returns.
  • Assisting with preparation of periodic management accounts.
  • Data Management System control, source document and checklist administration.
  • Following firm’s risk management and quality control procedures at all times.
  • As experience increases you will have an opportunity to take on more responsibility.

Suitable Candidate for the Assistant Accountant vacancy:

  • Our ideal candidate will have good educational background and studying towards ACCA/CIMA.
  • You will have a strong practical knowledge of the principles of bookkeeping and preparation of VAT returns.
  • You will ideally have practical knowledge of Sage L50 accounting system.
  • You will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritise, multi-task and plan effectively. You will be comfortable operating in a client facing environment.
  • We are looking for a candidate with good inter-personal skills and a collaborative approach who will be helpful and willing to support wider team.
