We are seeking an experienced Building Services Manager to join our growing team in Basingstoke, working on projects from pre-construction through to design interrogation and project delivery.
Role Overview:
As the Building Services Manager, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of building services elements on projects across the region.
You will be involved from the early pre-construction phase, coordinating design reviews and interrogations, through to overseeing the on-site delivery of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) services.
Working closely with the project team, subcontractors, and clients, you will ensure that all building services are delivered to the highest standards, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage building services activities across multiple projects, from pre-construction through to project delivery.
- Lead design reviews and technical interrogations to ensure MEP solutions are efficient, cost-effective, and meet client specifications.
- Collaborate with the design team to coordinate and integrate MEP services with the overall building design.
- Oversee procurement and tendering processes for MEP subcontractors and suppliers.
- Manage MEP subcontractors on-site to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and in line with quality standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the project team and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Monitor and report on progress, identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Ensure effective communication between all stakeholders, including clients, design teams, and subcontractors.
- Drive sustainability initiatives and energy-efficient solutions in line with project goals.
About You:
- Previous experience in a similar Building Services Manager role within a main contractor environment.
- Strong understanding of MEP systems and a proven track record in managing building services from pre-construction to delivery.
- Excellent technical knowledge, with the ability to interrogate designs and propose value engineering solutions.
- Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously and working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Knowledge of current building regulations, standards, and sustainability practices.
- Relevant qualifications in Building Services, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
