Dalton Recruitment is proud to be exclusively partnering with a leading support services firm to secure them a new Talent & Development Manager. The Talent & Development Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing and embedding the talent management strategy including succession planning, employee engagement and development programmes across the UK business to unleash the full potential of its people and meet future and changing business needs. The client operates multi-site, blue collar operations

This is a full-time, permanent post with 4 days/week to be based in their Basingstoke offices and one day working from home, paying up to a maximum of £60,000 basic (depending on experience) + bonus + package.

Partnering with the HR team and Business Leaders, the Talent & Development Manager will:

  • Co-ordinate and report on key development activities during the year e.g., Talent Review, Personal Development Review (PDR)
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to drive and monitor progress for the key Talent & Development processes
  • Design and deliver talent initiatives/programmes to maximise engagement and retention for key populations e.g., High Potentials, Graduates, Apprentices
  • Proactively communicate development programmes / opportunities available for all employees to ensure staff engagement through career and personal development
  • Ensure all aspects of development and talent management are focused on diversity and inclusiveness to ensure accessibility to all employees
  • Develop and deliver strategic leadership development programmes for all leaders
  • Enable and ensure the development of interventions focussed on improving line manager competence and capability
  • Research, recommend and oversee talent identification & development methods, processes, and tools (often with 3rd parties)
  • Foster and maintain relationships with other external professional bodies, advisers, consultants and learning & development providers
  • Provide analysis and reports to support talent management and succession planning activities
  • Monitor and measure training delivery results
  • Ensure coherence with group programmes
  • Delivery of projects to plan and budget
  • Provide career progression and career pathway guidance
  • Manage the learning and development advisor role
  • Work alongside the HR team to source and implement new apprenticeships to promote internal uptake
  • Co-ordinate UK use & content deployment on Moodle workplace LMS system to implement employee development strategies.

Essential Skills:

  • Able to lead the full training cycle
  • Undertake Learning Needs Analysis and devise and deliver the appropriate learning interventions.
  • Experience managing a LMS and developing e-learning modules
  • Passion for developing employees
  • Proactive, resilient, collaborative, and adaptable
  • Ability to communicate, influence and build good relationships at all levels within the organisation
  • Able to develop innovative solutions and strategies to develop the business
  • Commitment to quality and a focus on people
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present clear, well-structured reports and briefs
  • Capable of managing both short- and long-term objectives
  • Excellent planning & organising skills
  • Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years’ experience in talent management and learning and development
  • Ideally CIPD qualification level 5 or above
