I am looking to speak with a Principal Geotechnical Engineer specialising in detailed design to build and develop a Geotechnical team in Basingstoke. You will be sat alongside established multi-disciplinary teams, assisting the wider UK geotechnical team for an SME design consultancy that is currently going through an exciting growth phase.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Principal Geotechnical Engineer whilst working on some of the UK's most prestigious transportation infrastructure and building schemes for the likes of highway England, Network Rail, HS2 and Hinckley Point C.

Your responsibilities as a Principal Geotechnical Engineer will be to support the UK Geotechnical team on projects across the UK but ultimately head up and grow the Geotechnical team in Basingstoke that already consists of 1 junior Geotechnical Engineer.

Technical work is not limited too; designing of ground investigations, foundation design (deep and shallow including settlement), detailed pile design, slope stability analysis, soil nailing/rock anchors design, design of retaining structures, writing geotechnical reports.

Principal Geotechnical Engineer Specification:

  • Chartered or near to chartered status
  • Civil Engineering educated with a specialisation on soil mechanics or geotechnics.
  • Must have specific geotechnical design experience using industry software
  • Geotechnical project lead within a design environment
  • Preferred skills; Temporary works design, Network rail design, Highways design, Finite element analysis.
