Vanta Staffing High Wycombe are looking for an experienced Manager to effectively manage the daily operations of a distribution branch, ensuring unrivalled customer service, efficient stock management, and achieving sales targets. This role requires strong leadership with excellent people skills.

Monday to Friday 8am-5pm
GBP42-GBP50k plus bonus (quarterly)

Duties of the Manager:

- Accountable for 14 members of staff.
- Oversee daily branch operations, ensuring the team operates efficiently and safely.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by providing unrivalled service.
- Develop and implement strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Monitor and report on sales performance, ensuring profitability.
- Control operating costs and maintain efficient use of resources.
- Collaborate with sales teams to develop growth opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and suppliers.
- Handle customer complaints or inquiries and resolve them efficiently and professionally.
- Ensure the store provides unrivalled customer service.
- Oversee the purchasing department, ensuring timely ordering of materials and products to meet customer demands.
- Monitor stock levels to ensure the branch is fully stocked with a complete range of materials.
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate prices and secure the best possible deals.
- Conduct regular stock audits, monitor inventory discrepancies, and maintain accurate stock records.
- Manage the warehouse team to ensure efficient receiving, storing, and dispatching of materials and products.
- Ensure proper training and safety measures are in place for warehouse staff.
- Supervise the drivers to ensure safe driving practices, timely deliveries, and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor the performance of the warehouse and driver teams, providing coaching and feedback to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly performance and sales reports to the Area Manager.
- Ensure all administrative duties (e.g., staff attendance, stock orders) are up to date.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and business transactions.
- Ensure that all operational activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements, particularly in relation to health and safety.
- Regularly audit the branch for compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct safety training and ensure that all drivers and warehouse staff follow correct safety protocols.

- Proven management experience, ideally in a Builders Merchant or similar environment.
- Strong background in purchasing, stock control, sales, and customer service.
- Experience managing warehouse, office and driver teams is essential.
- Familiarity with the construction industry and product knowledge (building materials, tools, etc.) is highly desirable.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team communicating with them effectively and manage and resolve challenges if occur.
- Experience overseeing purchasing functions and managing supplier relationships.
- Ability to analyze stock trends, forecast demand, and optimize inventory levels.
- Strong negotiation skills for securing favorable purchasing terms and pricing.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
