(Office Based - Social Housing Responsive Repairs)

Reed Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced/qualified Senior Electrician Technician to join our client's Property Team from their head office in Basingstoke. Our client is a reputable housing association. This is a full-time role, working 40 Hours per week.

This role involves providing expert technical guidance and support across a wide range of electrical and civil works. You will act as a subject matter expert in electrical systems, ensuring high standards in design, installation, maintenance, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as first point of escalation and support to workplace technicians, providing technical guidance across a broad scope of civil works.
  • Oversee and support technicians in delivering routine maintenance internally and externally of the offices and buildings.
  • Liaise with the planned maintenance and compliance coordinator, manage the BAU workload of the technician team ensuring efficient resource deployment and prioritisation of key tasks.
  • Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems, diagnose and repair electrical issues and carry out installs.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide detailed reports and certification.
  • Ensure safe systems of work are in place and to which the technician team adheres.
  • Assist Workplace Manager - Technical in delivering regular toolbox talks, training and knowledge sharing.
  • Support the Workplace Manager - Technical to ensure 3rd party contractors are programmed, supervised appropriately and adhere to approved risk assessment method statement (RAMS).
  • Carry out site and van audits, and quality assurance checks of completed works to ensure high standards and identify further requirements.
  • Carry out stock checks, ensuring availability of equipment and materials including critical spares. Assist with sourcing quality and value products.
  • Cover for technicians across the team during absence, peak periods or as work requirements dictate.
  • Ensure that the service has a strong customer focus, with close liaison to Workplace Leads, Service Delivery Manager and key stakeholders.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with all colleagues and contractors to ensure an integrated contribution to SNG's corporate objectives.
  • Always maintains confidentiality in relation to business sensitive, personal and secure information gained through work.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or training program in electrical installation, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
  • City & Guilds 2382 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
  • City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 (Inspection and Testing).
  • Previous experience as an electrician, with a portfolio of completed projects.
  • Ability to be office based and travel between sites as required.
  • Clear, confident communicator with the ability to communicate effectively.
