The Mortgage Underwriter - Bridging Finance roleAs a mortgage underwriter specialising in a variety of Bridging Finance, you will play a critical role in the lending process by assessing and evaluating mortgage applications to determine their creditworthiness and adherence to lending guidelines. You will analyse borrower information, financial documents, and property data to make informed decisions regarding loan approval and risk assessment. Mortgage Underwriter - Bridging Finance key Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyse mortgage applications, including borrower financials, property details, and risk factors, to determine the feasibility of granting loans.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments by evaluating borrower creditworthiness, property valuation reports, rental income potential, and market trends, ensuring the viability and profitability of the investment.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's lending policies, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements throughout the mortgage underwriting process.
  • Verify and validate borrower documentation, such as income statements, tax returns, bank statements, and legal agreements, to ensure accuracy and authenticity.
  • Collaborate effectively with mortgage originators, borrowers, appraisers, solicitors, and other stakeholders to gather information, resolve discrepancies, and provide timely updates on loan decisions.
  • Make informed decisions on mortgage applications based on thorough analysis, balancing risk factors, borrower qualifications, property value, and potential returns.
  • Identify potential risks and propose risk mitigation strategies to minimise losses and protect the interests of the lending institution.
