Mane are looking for an Assistant Estimator to join their client, a leading MEP contractor to work on a number of projects with them.
Reports to: Design Engineer/Estimator
Deputy: Assistant Estimator
Qualifications / Experience Required:
- City & Guilds in Electrical Installation or NVQ Level 3 (preferred, but not essential)
- Experience in electrical installation or electrical estimating
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and drawing software packages
- Experience in temporary services (preferred, but not essential)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing projects for submission at tender/pre-tender stages
- Create schematic and layout drawings, along with other supporting tender documentation
- Communicate with clients regarding post-tender submissions
- Contribute to business development and maintaining client relationships
Main Tasks:
- Assist in preparing tender and pre-tender documentation alongside the Design Engineer
- Produce schematic and layout drawings and other supporting information for tenders
- Attend post-tender meetings and negotiate adjustments to submissions
- Maintain regular contact with clients to build long-term relationships
- Support project handover to operations
- Identify and suggest improvements to enhance the quality of services provided to clients
- Continue training and gaining experience to advance to a Design Engineer role
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
