Human Capital Partners are working with a large industrial company to identify and appoint their Procurement Lead. The Procurement Lead will possess 5 to 8 years indirect Procurement experience, ideally gained in an industrial/production environment. You will be responsible for 32 sites across the UK, reporting to the Group Financial Controller. Whilst this is a large company, we are ideally looking for someone who has worked within a business as a stand alone Procurement professional or as part of a small team and can be involved in all aspects of Procurement, from strategic to operational aspects.

The role is based in the office in Basingstoke 4 days a week with one day working from home.

The Procurement Lead will be responsible for sourcing and managing suppliers, negotiating agreements, and supporting the business to drive value and change. The role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. This position will ensure the procurement process runs smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the procurement supply chain.

  • Vendor Management performance, implementing scheduled reviews, analyses and performance reports, rebates and price negotiation to drive value
  • Identifying and implementing procurement improvements to drive down cost, reduce risk and ensure improved commercial leverage.
  • Work closely with General Managers and other key stake holders to ensure an agile approach to managing and supporting the business whilst acting as a trusted expert and advisor across all four UK regions and support functions
  • Act with a partnering style to promote Procurement to the wider business and minimising leakage from National Agreements whilst understanding the importance of localised business needs.
  • Influence peers and key stakeholders to alternative ways in working where relevant and beneficial for the business
  • Contribute to the delivery of the organisation's goals, budget and improvement aspirations through partnering with key suppliers and business stakeholders to realise year on year improvements and benefit the bottom line.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings and supplier performance
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policy and procedures as well as relevant laws and regulations
  • Maintain up-to-date procurement records including purchase orders, contract and supplier agreements
  • Update SharePoint tools to enable help to buy guides and streamlining of everyday requests and questions.
  • To work with the wider Group Procurement team to assess and deliver maximum value through business process improvements and leveraging Group Spend. This will include supporting the Group roll out of Policies and Procedures.
  • Working closely with Supply Chain to identify opportunities for better management of customer direct vendors and delivery methods where not currently going via Supply Chain.

Qualifications:

  • Degree level or equivalent
  • MCIPs would be an advantage
  • 5- 8 years Procurement experience
