The companyWe are working with a Training Provider offering industry-specific training to help individuals gain practical skills for sustainable employment.

As part of their growth, they are seeking a Solar PV Installation Trainer to lead a programme qualifying learners as Solar PV Installers.

About the JobThe Solar PV Installation Trainer will deliver theory and practical sessions to groups of up to 20 learners, guiding them through the process of becoming qualified Solar PV Installers.

You will manage recruitment, assessments, and provide ongoing support to ensure successful completion, while working closely with workshop technicians to maintain a high standard of learning.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Deliver structured, project-based lessons on industry standards and key subject knowledge.
  • Create and maintain a positive and effective learning environment.
  • Build strong relationships with trainees, staff, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Promote character and professional development among learners.
  • Implement detailed lesson plans driven by technical and performance assessments.
  • Ensure trainees demonstrate knowledge of industry content standards.
  • Use technology and digital learning platforms to enhance learning and collaboration.
  • Develop materials for teaching photovoltaic (PV) systems, design, safety, and best practices.
  • Lead hands-on, practical training activities in engineering and construction.
  • Expose learners to a wide range of skills through lab work and real-world training.
  • Conduct recruitment and assessments to onboard the right learners.
  • Support the workshop technician and ensure practical sessions meet health, safety, and learning standards.
  • Liaise with the Employer Solutions Consultant to ensure learners are prepared for interview opportunities with employers.

Skills & Experience Required:

Essential:

  • Electrically Qualified to 18th Edition or higher with a proven experience in solar panel installation, heat pump servicing, or extensive work in electrical, plumbing, and heating sectors.
  • Exceptional technical knowledge of industry products and standards.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills who's able to engage diverse groups of learners.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and meet the varied needs of learners from diverse backgrounds.

Desirable:

  • Experience in training or teaching in a vocational setting.
  • Teaching or Assessor qualifications.
  • IOSH/H&S certifications.
  • PV Installation professional certification.
  • Experience with domestic air or ground source heat pumps.
