General Manager

An award winning Packaging manufacturer is looking for a General Manager to work alongside the current Managing Director to take the business to the next stage of its journey.
 
BASIC SALARY: £50,000 - £60,000

JOB DESCRIPTION: General Manager - Packaging Manufacturing
 
Reporting to the Managing Director you will be directly responsible for the 3 current department managers Office, Design and Production as well  as the remaining 20 members of staffs and resolving any customer service issues, liaising with 3rd parties, Health and Safety, maintenance issues, design and any disciplinary issues.  
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: General Manager - Packaging Manufacturing
 
A more detailed brief will be made available to those who are shortlisted but in short, you will:
· To manage up to 20 members of staff across Office, Design and Production.
· Maintain minimum raw material Stock levels
· Machine & transport maintenance plan and organising preventative maintenance visits
· Site & Building maintenance.
· Responsible for people-management, recruitment, motivation, training and development staffing responsibilities.
· Manages and is responsible for the business health and safety adherence
· Manage and control all expenditure within agreed budgets.
· Maintain the ISO Quality Assurance Accreditation Programme.
· Provide leadership, strategic direction and facilities management to the unit.
· Set high personal and professional standards in line with company policy.
  
PERSON SPECIFICATION: General Manager - Packaging Manufacturing

· A proven track record of General, Operational or Manufacturing management, preferably from the packaging industry, although not essential.
· Some Customer facing experience would be of particular interest
· Must be a hands on Manager
· An organised, flexible individual
· Knowledge of ISO9001 and ISO14001
· Used to working to and organising processes
· Drive, enthusiasm and an air of authority
· Polished and determined individual
· Good interpersonal skills
· The ability to work autonomously combined with a methodical and careful approach to responsibilities
