GSL Education are currently seeking Teaching assistants for a Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) school based in Basingstoke. This is a specialist school that provides all the specific needs of pupils aged (11-16) who have difficulty managing social interactions and struggle to recognise and regulate their emotions. Many of the pupils have a diagnosis (or identified traits) of an Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC).

The ideal candidate for this kind of work:

•            Relevant experience with learning difficulties and complex needs

•            Must have a positive, resilient personality that is engaging

•            Can provide 1-1 support or support a teacher with small group activities

•            Able to work in a challenging setting with patience and understanding

•            Knowledge of PECS or Makaton would be an advantage
