HSQE Advisor / Manager (Demolition and Enabling Works)

Job SummaryThe Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental (HSQE) Manager will report into the HSQE Director and lead HSQE support to the demolition and enabling works division and Divisional Managing Director.

Key Responsibilities

Providing technical and specialist advice, guidance and assurance for the implementation of the construction, design and management regulations

Reviewing of project construction phase plans (CPP), risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)

Reviewing construction / demolition activities including pre and post mobilisation to identify continual improvement

Reviewing site procedures and practices as required and reporting to senior management as appropriate

Attending and supporting pre-start, risk assessment, start-up, site and client meetings as required

Monitoring site compliance with statutory HSE responsibilities and the business management system

Reviewing and undertaking audits, inspections and observation visits with findings recorded and advised to management. Where appropriate ensuring corrective actions have been completed within designated timescales

Assisting in development, implementation and coaching of strategies, campaigns and improvement plans

Supporting or where directed conducting incident investigation to identify root cause and recommendations to prevent reoccurrence, including the production of relevant incident reports within designated timescales

Collating statistical data and assisting with the production of month end reports in a timely manner

Assisting in development and coaching of junior colleagues and peers as appropriate

Supporting with bid submissions and supply chain evaluations on HSQE matters

Reports to HSQE and operations senior management teams at core office locations on a regular basis and attends meetings as required for and on behalf of the Group.

Although primarily focused on demolition and enabling worksactivities the individual will be required to provide support to the Group activities including recycling, waste, aggregate and support functions as required.

Person Specification

Education / Qualifications / Certifications

Hold a Minimum qualification of NEBOSH Construction Certificate and IOSH membership.

CCDO card (CSCS as minimum) holder (preferred)

Full clean UK driving license

Experience Skills / Competencies

Relevant HSQE experience in Demolition and / or Civil Engineering within the construction industry, (Demolition Contractor experience desirable)

Sound technical knowledge of the CDM regulations and experience as a lead or principal contractor

Temporary Works and Lifting Appointed Person qualification. (Asbestos removal experience is desirable)

Experience working with management systems 45001, 14001 and 9001 (desirable)

Experience conducting incident investigation and reporting

Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate and engage at all levels

Ability to manage your own diary and be punctual

Excellent verbal and written skills

PC Literate - with experience of using Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and use of the internet.
