Salary:£30,000 - £33,000 DOE

Our business is currently recruiting for a Yard Supervisor to lead and manage a team of Yard Operatives.As a Yard Supervisor you will be responsible for, motivate and develop colleagues to achieve a high standard of work. Supervisory or managerial experience is preferred, but non-essential as full training on the specifics as a Yard Supervisor will be given.

Previous experience of working in a busy yard is essential, although not necessarily at managerial level, as it is pivotal to the smooth running of the business as a whole.

To be successful as a Yard Supervisor you will need to be pro-active and willing to develop as the activities are wide and varying.

Previous experience within a Builders Merchant environment would be advantageous but by no means essential.Role

  • Review stock and par levels of the facility and report accordingly
  • Monitor loading and stacking ensuring accuracy of delivery
  • Be aware of and ensure all health and safety compliance is paramount
  • Drive and develop a customer service culture with effective communication

Skills and Experience

  • FLT Licence
  • Previous Yard experience
  • Knowledge of the Builders Merchant / Construction sectors
  • Experience of loading and unloading HGV vehicles
  • Experience of maintaining high levels organisation of products
