We have teamed up with a forward thinking and dynamic client who are in the manufacturing industry, they are looking to add to their service delivery department and seek an Electro-Mechanical Service Technician based in Basingstoke.

Salary: £25,000 to £27,000

Hours: Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 4.30pm and Friday 8.00am to 4.00pm

Benefits: A WHOPPING 25 days Annual Leave allowance per year plus ALL bank/public holidays off, Company pension after 3 months, Private medical insurance which includes dental treatment after 6 months

The main day to day responsibilities:

  • Undergo structured training (if required) to build up a skills matrix of benefit to the Company. This will take 6-12 months and could involve a trip to Germany.

  • On an increasing scale, carry out service work on both cold heads and compressors as training progresses; initially supervised but increasingly on their own.
  • Understand and take a hand in organising the flow of work into through and out of the department.
  • Learn the location of Company service data, material, drawings and procedures and play a role in maintaining our records.
  • Learn the correct way to record and store test data (to a high standard of completeness and legibility).
  • Writing detailed service reports following service/corrective work on customer units if necessary.
  • Contributing to the daily running of the service department - Ensuring service jobs are handled correctly and efficiently, Maintaining the workshop when required.

This amazing company will look to recruit candidates with the following;

  • Job-related electro-mechanical experience preferred but not essential

  • 'A' levels in science-based subjects, particularly Physics desirable
  • Experienced or educated in a technical subject.
  • Knowledge of cryogenic systems and principles.
  • Experience working with refrigeration compressors is desired but not essential
