We strive to deliver safe, defect-free, high-quality homes and places for our customers. We're seeking a Quality Technical Advisor to monitor the quality and safety of new homes, working with contractors and agents to identify and prevent construction defects being incorporated into the build.

The role

This opportunity can be based from our Greenham or Basingstoke office, and will include a blend of on-site, home and office working, but there will be plenty of flexibility. Most of the developments are currently in the Oxfordshire area.

As you'll be visiting sites across our portfolio, a full UK driver's license and your own transport is essential.

This role is to monitor the construction of all new developments on site to ensure that SNG's standards for design and quality are achieved. You will undertake site inspections and produce written reports to monitor progress and quality of work on site.

Responsibilities include:

  • Continually monitoring the works on site to ensure that the quality of the construction meets SNG's standards.
  • Carrying out inspections at completion of the homes and the preparation of snagging schedules.
  • Assisting in finalising the design and specification for new developments
  • Reviewing the Employer's Requirements / Design Brief on a regular basis to continually improve the standards of new homes

What you'll need

  • You will have up to date and relevant experience of new build construction processes and technical standards including NHBC and current Building Regulations.
  • A knowledge of CDM Regulations and H&S relating to construction
  • Knowledge and experience of working with Development Agreements and JCT Design & Build forms of contract is advantageous
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to prioritise and plan your work effectively
  • Excellent communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all work colleagues, contractors and third parties
  • Proven experience of working to tight deadlines and producing accurate and detailed technical reports
