Our client, a leader in Oil & Gas sector, is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join their team in Basingstoke on a 12-month contract.

Based in Basingstoke, this role offers a hybrid working pattern, allowing you to enjoy both office interaction and the flexibility of remote work.

Role Overview:

As the Senior Buyer, you'll play a pivotal role in coordinating multi-discipline activities across the full procurement cycle.

From developing enquiry documents and evaluating bids to negotiating contracts and ensuring smooth execution, your expertise will be key to ensuring procurement success.

This role is an integral part of a leading procurement team based in Basingstoke, where innovation and collaboration drive success in the supply chain industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare comprehensive procurement enquiry documents.
  • Lead formal bid evaluations and participate in pre-award negotiations.
  • Prepare and execute contracts, including any required amendments.
  • Develop and implement procurement planning strategies.
  • Liaise with Vendor Management and perform due diligence on contractors.
  • Ensure full compliance with company and legislative procedures throughout procurement processes.
  • Advise on contract interpretation and assist in risk management during execution.
  • Maintain market awareness and foster strong relationships with external contractors.
Key Skills/Qualifications:
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP, e-tendering systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas, Engineering, or General Services sectors is preferred.
  • Proven negotiation skills and experience in contract evaluations and purchasing.
  • Degree in a business or commercial subject (preferred).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high standards.
  • Integrity, honesty, and a solid understanding of business ethics.
