Excellent opportunity for an Ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to further his or her experience with this busy Regional main contractor, initially working on a large new build student accommodation scheme in Basingstoke.

The role is to work as No2 to the Quantity Surveyor on the project who will be site based.

This is a secured project where enabling and groundworks have commenced on site and completion is scheduled for the end of summer 2024

Reporting to the site based Quantity Surveyor and Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be assisting management of all commercial aspects including: sub-contract procurement, management of sub-contractor accounts, undertaking measurement and valuations for payments, pricing and agreeing variations, applications to client for interim payments, input to financial forecasting and CVRs, settlement of subcontractor final accounts, through to the agreement of client final account.

This is a progressive role and throughout you will be developed for the next step forward in your career path aiming to make Quantity Surveyor and run your own project providing that you demonstrate the aptitude, attitude and skill, drive and ambition.

About the Company/Client/Project:

This role is to work with the busy regional Hampshire based office of a larger main contractor group with an annual turnover for the region of circa 45m, covering predominantly the Hampshire area plus into Dorset, Berks and West Sussex.

Workload is typically in the region of 5m to 30m in the education, local authority, student accommodation, commercial office, industrial, and leisure sectors. Workload is secured on a mixture of regional and national frameworks, competitive tenders and negotiated schemes for repeat clients.

Requirements including certificates and qualifications:

You will be degree qualified, have around 2-4 years of experience post-graduation, and have a proven track record of successful project delivery in a similar role ideally with a Regional main contractor.
