Children’s Homes Care Assistant

Locations: West Berkshire and Hampshire (Tadley, Bramley, Burghfield and Padworth – with commutable links from Reading and Basingstoke)

Base Salary: £26,000 for a 40 hour working week

Bonus: 4 sleep-in’s per month (£50 per weekday and £60 per weekend – earnings start from £2,300 per annum)

About the role

As a Children's Residential Worker, you will be a positive role model for the children within Amegreen Children’s Services, offering care and support to children providing structure, consistency, and nurturing as part of day-to-day living, always ensuring the safety of each child. You will build effective relationships with the children, support them with routine, join the children in activities and holidays, creating meaningful care plans, working together with parents, teachers, therapists, and social workers, write reports and ensuring records are kept clear and up to date. These are just some examples of the work you will do that will support our children and young people with their everyday lives. 

There will be great days where you will laugh, play games and bring joy to the children but there will be times where the children may shout, swear and cry, but by listening to them, guiding, and offering comfort during challenging times through your kindness, you will find this role really rewarding and see more of those great days! 

About Us

Amegreen Children’s Services has been established since 2013 and has a therapeutic community of children’s homes across rural West Berkshire and Hampshire. Our homes support children who have social, emotional, and mental health needs and children who have a range of learning disabilities.

All our homes are situated near small towns with access to bigger towns and close to beautiful woodland and countryside. Our homes have access to our therapeutic farm that provides Equine Assisted learning with horses alongside a dedicated therapy team to support you in your role. 

We take immense pride in achieving a Good and Outstanding rating from Ofsted across all our homes and remain a preferred provider for the South-East. We are a child focussed provider that is committed, driven, has high standards and expectations alongside striving for the very best outcomes.
