Are you passionate about supporting young people who face social, emotional, and mental health challenges?
Do you have a deep desire to help students overcome barriers and unlock their potential? We want YOU to join this dedicated team as a Youth Worker in a supportive SEMH school!
In this role, you will be at the heart of empowering students to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. As a Youth Worker, you'll play a pivotal role in helping students build confidence, learn vital life skills, and navigate their challenges with the support they need to thrive.
As a Youth Worker, your responsibilities will include:
- Building Relationships: Develop strong, trusting relationships with students, providing consistent support and guidance.
- Supporting Emotional Development: Help students navigate their emotions, boost self-esteem, and provide a safe space for expression.
- Guiding Personal Growth: Work with students to improve social skills, behaviour management, and conflict resolution.
- Delivering Targeted Interventions: Provide tailored support to students who need extra help, working closely with teachers to implement behaviour plans and interventions.
- Promoting Wellbeing: Engage in activities and discussions to promote emotional and mental wellbeing, encouraging positive choices and resilience.
- Collaborating with the Team: Work alongside teaching staff, pastoral teams, and outside agencies to provide holistic support for each student's needs.
We're seeking a Youth Worker who is:
- Empathetic and Understanding: Someone who can truly connect with young people and understands the unique challenges of those with SEMH needs.
- Proactive and Patient: A calm, patient individual who can de-escalate situations and provide stability when students are facing emotional or behavioural difficulties.
- Experienced: While experience with SEMH students is desirable, we also welcome candidates with experience working with young people in other settings who are ready to learn and adapt.
- A Team Player: Collaboration is key, so you must be comfortable working with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure the best outcomes for students.
This is a highly rewarding role where you'll directly impact the lives of young people, supporting their emotional and educational development.
