SEN Teaching Assistant - Basingstoke

We are supporting a unique all-through school in the Basingstoke area, who provide education and care to young people between the ages of 5 and 16. Each child has a primary diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) as well as additional, associated needs. They have a need for 3x Teaching Assistants to join them on a long term, ongoing basis with the possibility of going temp to perm. The school are purpose built with specialist classrooms and extensive external grounds, their main aim is to provide opportunities to children to help them to thrive and encourage them to reach their potential with the skills necessary to overcome barriers. Building confidence and strong self-esteem plays a significant role in their student's ability to learn and achieve.You should always be prepared to support the pupils in class and with their every day life during school days! The school have smaller class sizes to ensure the safety and learning experience of the students is the best it can be. Due to the needs of the students, ideally you will have relevant, recent experience or qualifications, we will consider candidates qualified in Psychology, Counselling or Criminology but other subjects will also be considered.The School need Teaching Assistants who can bring enthusiasm, passion and experience to the classroom. They are looking for individuals who will be proactive and adaptable and be able to use their own initiative. Resilience and confidence to work with challenging behaviour is desirable!
