JOB TITLE - Science Teacher- SEN

About The School

Prospero Teaching are working with an excellent Alternative Provision in Basingstoke. The School are looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to support pupils with additional needs and behavioural difficulties. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with special educational needs and a strong commitment to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality science education tailored to the individual needs of our students.

  • Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate £120 per day
  • Hours - 8:30 am - 4pm, plus parents evenings

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging science lessons that cater to the diverse needs of SEN students.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students, in collaboration with other staff and specialists.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and staff.
  • Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning.

Qualifications:

  • Teaching certification or qualification in Special Education.
  • Strong knowledge of science curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with SEN students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover the last 2 years
