Are you a Technical Safety Engineer looking for your next opportunity? A global leading energy company is seeking a Senior Technical Safety Engineer to join their team in Basingstoke on a permanent staff basis.

In this role, you will ensure safety in design is prioritised across all projects, driving safety requirements forward and ensuring facility designs and project management adhere to stringent safety standards. This position requires a strong ability to collaborate with various engineering disciplines and project teams while providing technical leadership and guidance.

You will act as a Senior Engineer in Technical Safety, working on design tasks and leading activities for assigned projects, from feasibility through to detailed design.


Key Responsibilities: Senior Technical Safety Engineer

- Lead technical safety design and manage projects from feasibility to detailed design phases.

- Perform safety studies and analysis including loss prevention, fire protection, risk analysis (QRA, FERA, EERA, ESSA), and hazardous area classification.

- Develop HSE philosophies and conduct RAM studies.

- Supervise and guide subordinate team members, ensuring compliance with technical standards and project timelines.

- Provide technical support and oversee document reviews and approvals.

- Participate in safety reviews such as HAZID, HAZOP, and SIL assessments.

- Stay updated on relevant technologies, industry standards, and internal procedures.

- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integration of safety requirements across projects.


Key Requirements: Senior Technical Safety Engineer

- Significant experience in technical safety within the energy sector.

- Expertise in risk identification, assessment, and safety design.

- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline, accredited by a chartered engineering institute.

- Chartered Engineer or Certified Process Safety Practitioner status preferred.

- Experience in onshore/offshore oil and gas, LNG, CCS, and renewables projects is desirable.
