Reed Finance are working with a lovely family run SME in the heart of Bath recruiting for a part-time Financial Controller.

In this role you will be the Finance Lead, working closely with the Managing Director to create strategic plans, evaluate growth opportunities, and ensure efficient resource allocation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts: Produce quarterly management accounts, forecasts, budgets, and cost-centre creation. Develop business reporting and ensure compliance with reporting timetables.
  • Forecasting: Improve forecasting and performance monitoring for P&L and cash flow.
  • Financial Control: Evaluate tenant financial status, supervise ledgers and billing, and manage cash flow.
  • Tax: Oversee VAT returns, year-end accounts, and corporation tax returns. Develop knowledge of property-related tax issues.
  • Compliance: Identify weaknesses in internal controls and develop effective procedures.
  • IT: Maintain knowledge of IT systems, suggest improvements, and implement cyber risk protocols.
  • Internal Partnerships: Engage with the team and share data analysis to enhance performance.
  • HR: Supervise and develop the Finance Team, manage payroll, and support staff development.
