Are you an experienced financial professional contractor looking for a role in the new year? We have an exciting opportunity for an Interim Financial Controller in the Bath area for a private sector, rapidly growing business.Role Details:

  • Location: Bath
  • Hybrid/ office working: 2-3 days per week on-site - flexible on days
  • Duration: 3-6 months, starting ideally December 2024 for the month-end process
  • Interviews: As soon as next week via Teams
  • Competitive daily rate available

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the solid number 2 to the current Head of Finance
  • Take full ownership and control of the month-end process from January to March 2025
  • Manage a team of 5 (1 Financial Accountant, 1 Credit Controller, and 3 Management Accountants)
  • Support the transition to a new permanent hire in 2025
  • Assist with year-end matters and audit queries from March to June 2025
  • Seeking a personable & flexible interim contractor who can hit the ground running and support a busy period in a junior/new team

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller/ Finance Manager or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience managing month-end and year-end processes
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office
  • Relevant accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is preferred
