HOUSING BENEFITS ADVISOR•    Salary:     £28,819 (pro rata) + £900 Car Allowance       OR         £15 per hour PAYE - £23 Umbrella•    Location: Bath•    Contract Types:      1 x Fixed-Term Contract (10 months) Full-Time   and    1 x Permanent•    3 - 4 days a week (Hybrid Working)

Our high-profile housing association client is looking for 2 knowledgeable Benefits Advisors to join their Bath team.

These roles are ideal for candidates with a solid understanding of welfare benefits and Universal Credit regulations, coupled with experience in a customer-facing position.

Day-to-day of the role:•    Support and empower customers transitioning onto Housing Benefit and Universal Credit, and help them maximise their income by accessing other unclaimed benefits.•    Work collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure customers sustain their tenancies.•    Develop strong relationships with local Job Centres, the DWP, Local Authorities, support providers, charities, and advice agencies.•    Assess new customers making a Universal Credit claim to ensure full support throughout their journey, handling necessary administration.•    Collaborate with the Customer Accounts team to ensure a smooth transition onto benefits, minimising the risk of tenancy failure and/or increased rent arrears.

Required Skills & Qualifications:•    Solid knowledge of welfare benefits and Universal Credit regulations essential•    Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with both external and internal partners.•    Experience in administration and customer service in a dynamic environment.•    Valid driving license and access to a vehicle.•    Ability to work, communicate, and negotiate with a diverse range of audiences, embracing equity & diversity.•    Demonstrated resilience and a proactive attitude.
