Your new companyWe're looking for a Financial Analyst to help shape financial planning and reporting. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team where your insights will directly influence key decisions. In this role, you'll support the Head of Financial Planning, Reporting & Analysis, working alongside the Senior Financial Analyst to develop and maintain core financial data sets. Your work will play a crucial part in ensuring the organisations sustainability.Your new roleYou'll play a key role in financial modelling, including the forecasting model for the organisations five-year plan, and create insightful financial reports using business intelligence tools. Working closely with system accountants, you'll help improve reporting accuracy and streamline financial processes to drive efficiency. Duties will include:

  • To undertake monthly monitoring and reconciliation to enable tracking against budget and highlight variances in a timely manner to support forecast adjustments.
  • To develop and maintain a model to support the reporting of pay expenditure compared to budgeted and highlight and understand variances for reporting.
  • To provide and analyse data for use in the annual returns. Identify, analyse and provide commentary on year-on-year variances.
  • To prepare/analyse data for internal segmental reporting.
  • To create targeted system reports which offer key insights into areas of expenditure both at departmental or category level as requested/required. This will assist with strategic and operational organisational decision-making.
  • To proactively work with the systems accountants to ensure any reporting developed is accurate and robust and update existing reports as reporting requirements change or as system changes dictates.

What you'll need to succeedWe are ideally looking for a newly qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) with advanced Excel skills, and strong experience in financial modelling and report creation. The successful candidate will have recent experience in a similar or complementary role, with experience of creating, analysing and interpreting financial reports and budgetary information, and producing insights. Experience in a large and complex organisation, would be an advantage.
