This role is ideal for a CICM-qualified professional (or someone currently studying) with a background in underwriting.The successful candidate will lead the Group's Credit Risk Function, serving as the key point of contact for the credit risk team. Their primary responsibility will be to safeguard the Group against potential credit losses by effectively managing all aspects of credit risk.Responsibilities of the Credit Risk Manager will include, but will not be limited to:
  • Evaluate the creditworthiness and insolvency risk of international clients using financial data and research
  • Act as the primary contact for Economic Sanctions compliance and due diligence
  • Oversee credit risk reporting
  • Lead a small team with scope to grow as the business expands
  • Provide credit risk insights to stakeholders, including the board, and monitor client solvency
  • Administer credit insurance policies and explore alternative risk mitigants
  • Identify market trends impacting credit risk and escalate key risks
  • Collaborate across departments to promote a risk-aware culture
  • Enhance credit risk data accuracy, reporting, and automation to optimise efficiency
The successful Credit Risk Manager will require the following skills and experience:
  • CICM-qualified (or studying)
  • Experience in credit/loan underwriting or credit risk analysis
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency
  • Skilled at providing credit advice to senior stakeholders, including board-level executives
  • Proven ability to build trust and strong relationships with global stakeholders
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a drive to innovate and succeed
  • Line management experience is a plus
  • Highly organised, able to work independently, and meet tight deadlines
