  • Provide a professional HR advisory service, supporting the business in the implementation of HR strategy, policy and procedures.
  • Support to all areas of the site for getting the best out of teams, in line with our values and strategy.
  • Ensure the payroll is correctly processed and the process fully supported.
  • Ensuring the company is compliant with all legal legislation.
  • Line manager responsibility for one person
  • Head up the HR function
  • The Data Protection Officer for the business.
  • Champion equality and diversity across the company.
  • Member of the Site Leadership Team (SLT) and frequent liaison with other SLT members and Board members.
  • Coach, mentor and support the senior managers through all people policies.
  • Drive performance management and our Portals PACE values.
  • Drive a positive and engaging workplace culture.
  • Liaise on options and solutions for better working practises.
  • Carry out and support Managers in the implementation and application of employee relations procedures such as the disciplinary and grievance investigations and hearings, appraisals, capability, restructures, redundancies etc.
  • Support the absence procedure liaising between managers and Occupational Health, as well as managing health surveillance.
  • Build relationships and work with union representatives in taking forward new policies/negotiations.
  • Champion recognition.
  • Involvement in the administration of annual salary reviews and bonus schemes.
  • Management of the HR system, Cascade.
  • Ensure all payroll changes are processed in a timely and accurate manner and the payroll process is fully supported.
  • Manage the recruitment process, ensuring all vacancies are filled in a timely manner with the right person, supporting managers through the entire process.
  • Manage the onboarding process including completing offer paperwork for successful candidates.
  • Initiation, management and delivery of various training programmes, succession planning, talent acquisition and apprenticeship programmes.
  • Liaise on employee benefit offerings when they are due for renewal (Life Assurance, Private Medicate Insurance, etc.)
  • Complete monthly report to the sufficient requirement.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree qualified with CIPD level 7, or equivalent.
  • Sound understanding of HR with a high level of experience in GDPR, recruitment, employee relations, performance management.
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines, in a fast-moving environment, with a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience of influencing and providing guidance that is credible with senior managers.
  • Thorough working knowledge of UK employment legislation and best practice HR processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload.
