Your new firmOur client is looking for a Civil Litigation Fee Earner to join their experienced team in Bath. As well as providing assistance within the Civil Litigation department, you will also undertake your own fee-earning work and provide a profitable contribution to the work of the department.Your new roleYou'll provide essential legal assistance, manage your own fee-earning work, and contribute to the team's success and profitability. You will:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of civil litigation matters, including professional negligence, building disputes, group action
  • Provide regular updates to management on caseloads and keep abreast of legal changes to inform the team and clients.
  • Draft new documents for our Case Management system.
  • Take and make client phone calls; respond to and action client queries.
  • Arrange client interviews to take instructions.
  • Analyse client feedback, implement changes, and communicate improvements to the team.
  • Conduct matters on behalf of clients in line with their instructions.

What you'll need to succeed

  • You will have experience either as a paralegal handling your own caseload of matters, or you might be studying for your CILEx Level 6 or have recently qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive
  • Proven experience of managing a caseload of civil litigation matters, ideally with previous experience of professional negligence
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong prioritisation and deadline-meeting skills.
  • Client-focused with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
