Foundation Lecturer - Part-Time, Permanent

Are you passionate about delivering high-quality education to learners with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? We are working in partnership with a leading college to recruit a Foundation Lecturer to support students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). This is a permanent, part-time opportunity, offering 30 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, across dual campuses.

Salary - £30,650 - £38110 (Full-Time Equivalent)

Location: Bath

The Role:

As a Foundation Lecturer, you will play a key role in shaping the learning experiences of students with SEND, ensuring they receive outstanding teaching and support. You will deliver a range of programmes that enhance students' life skills, employability, and core functional skills in maths and English at Entry Level 1 to Level 1.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging learning programmes tailored to individual student needs.
  • Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessment materials.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, maintaining accurate records.
  • Support learners' transition into wider college programmes and further education.
  • Work collaboratively with SEND Coordinators and classroom support staff.
  • Conduct risk assessments for classroom activities, workshops, and educational trips.
What You Need:
  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTTLS, or equivalent).
  • 5 GCSEs at grade A-C (4 and above), including maths and English* (or equivalent).
  • Experience working within a sensory-based learning environment.
  • A strong understanding of curriculum development and innovative teaching methods.
