Your new companyA forward-thinking organisation on the outskirts of Bath are looking to appoint a Part-Time Finance Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for an employer of choice offering 21 hours per week over 3-5 days.Your new roleReporting to the Financial Controller, the Finance Assistant role will include:

  • Processing supplier invoices, including coding, checking calculations, reviewing VAT apportionment and reconciling to supplier statements.
  • Maintaining accurate records of spend on capital projects to ensure sufficient funds to process costs
  • Checking, coding and processing staff expense claims and credit card statements
  • Processing receipts - ensuring they are accurately allocated to the correct account
  • Producing monthly bank reconciliations
  • Producing, checking and sending out statements
  • Ad-hoc office support tasks

What you'll need to succeed

  • You are experienced working within a finance team environment or similar role.
  • You will have a robust knowledge and practical experience of all aspects of bookkeeping including processing supplier invoices, raising sales invoices and processing receipts and payments and reconciling bank accounts.
  • You are experienced in using different accounting software and have good working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
  • You are part-qualified AAT or qualified by experience
  • You are precise and accurate in your work, with good self-checking, and manage your own workloads with ease.
  • You are tactful and totally discreet; organised and systematic; able to build positive working relationships at all levels and across a geographically disparate organisation; able to deal professionally with staff and contractors; open to discussion, change and development; easy-going yet professional, self-directed and productive.
